More about the GIScience

Through reviewing two pro-and-con articles about the "death" or the "revenge" of geography in The Economist, Dr. Daniel Sui as a geographer reexamines the meaning of GIS and GIS Science (GIScience) in his article: "THE "G" IN GIS". It seems to me that the age of "Geography Renaissance" is coming through the advance and popularity of information technology. Plenty of evidence like traditional GIS + community participation(Community Mapping, PPGIS, PGIS, CiGIS and P3DM), or recently the hot Google Map combined with social software technology (Fliker, Blog, Wiki...). Delight to see the Online Community Mapping Phenomena has sprouted since the disscuion of Community GIS Over the Web last year..
